New breathing test may sharpen asthma tracking

NCT ID NCT06425562

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 24 times

Summary

This study looks at whether a simple breathing test called impulse oscillometry (IOS) can better track asthma control than standard tests. Fifty adults with asthma who are changing their maintenance medication will take lung function tests and questionnaires at the start and again 3-6 months later. The goal is to see if IOS can detect changes in asthma control that standard tests might miss.
