Could a simple test predict asthma attacks in kids?
NCT ID NCT07280364
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study looks at blood and urine samples from 100 children aged 12-17 with asthma to find chemical markers that signal an asthma attack. Participants continue their usual asthma medications. The goal is to better understand how asthma changes in the body, which could lead to earlier detection and more personalized treatment.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
What this could lead to
If successful, this study could identify biological markers that help doctors predict or diagnose asthma attacks earlier in children.
What could go wrong
This is an early observational study with only 100 participants, so findings may not apply to all children with asthma. It does not test a new treatment.
