Head-to-Head asthma strategy trial aims to find best way to prevent dangerous Flare-Ups

NCT ID NCT06596512

Summary

This large study aims to compare two established strategies for managing moderate-to-severe asthma to see which better prevents dangerous flare-ups. It will enroll 4,100 adults who are at risk for asthma exacerbations and currently use inhaled medications. Researchers will directly compare the PARTICS strategy (using a steroid inhaler with each rescue dose) against the MART strategy (using a combination inhaler for both daily maintenance and rescue) over 16 months to see which provides better asthma control and quality of life.
