Could a simple aspirin pill replace painful daily injections for hip fracture patients?
NCT ID NCT06937372
Summary
This large UK study aims to find the best way to prevent dangerous blood clots in people who break their hip. It will compare two common treatments: aspirin tablets versus daily injections (called LMWH). The study involves 96 hospitals and over 21,000 patients aged 60 and older, using existing NHS records to see which treatment works better and causes fewer bleeding problems.
