First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 31, 2026 · Updated 25 times
Summary
This study was designed to see if quinine could be used as a marker to detect aspiration (leakage around the breathing tube) in critically ill patients on ventilators. Researchers planned to collect samples from the mouth and windpipe to measure quinine levels. However, the study was withdrawn before enrolling any participants, so no results are available.
