First seen Dec 11, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 23 times

Summary

This study looks at whether two common artificial sweeteners, aspartame and sucralose, affect blood sugar control in adults aged 40 and older who have prediabetes. Researchers will provide all meals for 8 weeks and use continuous glucose monitors to track blood sugar levels. The goal is to understand if these sweeteners make it harder for the body to manage glucose, which could inform dietary advice for people at risk of diabetes.
