First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Apr 29, 2026 · Updated 26 times
Summary
This early-stage study tests a stem cell therapy called ASP7317 for people with geographic atrophy, the advanced form of dry age-related macular degeneration that causes central vision loss. The treatment involves injecting special cells under the retina to replace damaged ones. Participants must take immune-suppressing drugs for a short time to prevent rejection. The main goal is to check safety and tolerability, while also looking for any vision improvement.
