First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study tested whether a version of the Mediterranean diet made with Asian ingredients is acceptable to people with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). 30 participants in Singapore tasted meals from a 4-week menu and rated them. The goal was to see if people liked the food enough to follow the diet long-term.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

Asian Mediterranean diet

What this could lead to

If this diet is well-liked, it could pave the way for a larger study to see if it helps manage fatty liver disease.

What could go wrong

This is a very small, early study that only checks if people like the taste. It does not test whether the diet actually improves health.
