Smart pancreas systems battle to prevent dangerous low blood sugar
NCT ID NCT06082973
First seen Dec 26, 2025 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 23 times
Summary
This study tested two high-tech artificial pancreas systems in 15 adults with type 1 diabetes. One system used two hormones (insulin and glucagon) while the other used only insulin but gave carb suggestions. Each person tried both systems during a 12-hour hospital visit that included surprise exercise and a meal. The goal was to see which system better prevented low blood sugar events.
