Could a simple artery test predict dementia risk?
NCT ID NCT07205003
Summary
This study aims to understand if a specific property of the carotid artery, called 'wall viscosity,' is linked to vascular dementia and Alzheimer's disease. Researchers will measure this artery stiffness in 140 participants over age 70 who have either type of dementia or memory complaints. The goal is to see if this measurement correlates with brain scan findings and cognitive test scores, potentially identifying a new marker for these conditions.
