VA tests heart medication to soften stiff arteries in veterans

NCT ID NCT06745063

Summary

This study is testing whether a medication called empagliflozin can improve artery health in veterans with obesity. Fifty veterans aged 30-60 will take either the medication or a placebo pill daily for 12 weeks. Researchers will measure changes in artery stiffness to see if the drug helps make arteries more flexible.
