New scan could sharpen prostate cancer radiation, spare healthy tissue

NCT ID NCT07393867

Summary

This study is for men with intermediate- or high-risk prostate cancer who are scheduled to receive hormone therapy and radiation. The goal is to see if a special type of imaging scan (PSMA PET/CT), taken during hormone treatment, can help doctors more accurately aim radiation at the remaining cancer while avoiding areas that have already responded well. All participants will receive standard hormone and radiation therapy, plus three imaging scans over six months, to see if this approach makes treatment more precise and potentially reduces side effects.
