Sniff away the sickness: aromatherapy patches tested for Post-Surgery nausea

NCT ID NCT07281885

First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated Jun 14, 2026 · Updated 29 times

Summary

This study tests whether aromatherapy patches (lavender-sandalwood or orange-ginger) can reduce nausea and vomiting after total joint replacement surgery. About 159 adults will be split into three groups: one gets the aromatherapy patch plus standard care, another gets a placebo patch plus standard care, and the third gets standard care alone. Researchers will measure nausea severity and patient satisfaction to see if aromatherapy is a helpful, drug-free option.
