Sniff away the sickness: aromatherapy patches tested for Post-Surgery nausea

NCT ID NCT07281885

First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tests whether aromatherapy patches (lavender-sandalwood or orange-ginger) can reduce nausea and vomiting after total joint replacement. 159 adults will be split into three groups: one gets the aromatherapy patch plus standard care, another gets a placebo patch plus standard care, and the third gets standard care alone. Nausea severity will be measured before and after surgery, and patient satisfaction will also be recorded.
