Stroke recovery boost: extra Arm-Hand training shows promise

NCT ID NCT06517251

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests whether adding one hour of arm-hand exercises daily (5 days a week for 4 weeks) to usual care helps stroke patients regain arm function. 80 people who had a stroke within the last 5 months will be randomly assigned to either the extra arm-hand program or a lower-body exercise program. Researchers will measure arm movement, independence, and quality of life up to one year later, and also look at costs.
