Can a simple nutrient boost a Baby's Post-Surgery defenses?

NCT ID NCT05306925

Summary

This study aims to understand if adding the nutrient arginine to the feeding of babies after major bowel surgery changes how their immune system genes work. Researchers will enroll 48 infants, giving some extra arginine and others standard nutrition, then track blood levels and gene activity for 30 days. The goal is to gather knowledge about how nutrition affects recovery, not to test a new treatment.
