First seen Jun 12, 2026 · Last updated Jun 16, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study looks at whether the force of mechanical ventilation used in acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) can cause brain injury. Researchers will measure a brain-damage marker called S100B in 150 adults and test their memory and thinking skills 3 and 12 months later. The goal is to understand how to reduce long-term mental problems after ARDS.
