Fish oil and remote rehab: a new hope for long COVID sufferers?
NCT ID NCT06063031
First seen Jun 30, 2026 · Last updated Jul 01, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests whether a combination of a special omega-3 supplement (LIPINOVA®) and a home-based exercise and education program can improve quality of life for people with lingering post-COVID symptoms. About 146 adults aged 18–70 who have had symptoms for more than 12 weeks will take part. Half will receive the active supplement plus telerehabilitation, and the other half will receive a placebo supplement plus the same rehab program. The goal is to see if this approach can reduce inflammation and ease common long COVID problems like fatigue, shortness of breath, and mental fog.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Omega-3 fatty acids (EPA, DHA) and their natural anti-inflammatory metabolites (SPMs) as a dietary supplement (LIPINOVA®)
What this could lead to
If it works, this approach could offer a safe, non-drug way to reduce fatigue, brain fog, and other lingering post-COVID symptoms, improving daily life for millions.
What could go wrong
This is a relatively small, early-stage trial. The supplement may not reduce symptoms more than placebo, and individual results can vary. Dietary supplements are not strictly regulated like drugs.
