Surgeons test High-Tech AR glasses to replace painful needle procedure for lung cancer
NCT ID NCT06548451
Summary
This study tested if a new augmented reality (AR) system could help surgeons find small lung nodules just as well as the standard CT-guided needle method, but with less pain and radiation. It involved 270 patients with small lung nodules needing surgery. Researchers compared the success of surgery, procedure time, pain, and complications between the high-tech AR approach and the traditional needle localization.
