First seen Dec 10, 2025 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 19 times

Summary

This study tested whether augmented reality (AR) can replace the standard CT-guided hook-wire method for locating small lung nodules before surgery. 270 adults with lung nodules up to 2 cm took part. The goal was to see if AR could make the process faster, less painful, and just as effective for guiding successful nodule removal.
