Summary

This trial tests whether special augmented-reality goggles can help surgeons find lymph nodes that may be missed during breast cancer surgery. The goggles show a fluorescent dye that collects in lymph nodes, allowing the surgeon to re-examine the area after the planned removal is complete. Thirty patients having breast cancer surgery with lymph node removal will take part. The study measures how often this technique finds cancer-containing nodes that would otherwise have remained, which could improve cancer staging and treatment planning.
