Scientists scan brains to uncover hidden effects of Pregnancy-Linked immune disorder

NCT ID NCT03600636

Summary

This study used MRI brain scans to see if a condition called obstetric antiphospholipid syndrome causes changes in the brain's white matter over several years. Researchers compared scans from 40 women who had pregnancy complications due to this immune disorder against scans from healthy women. The goal was to gather information to better understand the long-term effects of the condition, not to test a treatment.
