Can a smartphone app better prepare teens with heart conditions for adult life?

NCT ID NCT04463446

Summary

This study tested whether a mobile app or a one-time meeting with a nurse was better at preparing teenagers with congenital heart disease to manage their own health as they move from pediatric to adult healthcare. Over 200 teens aged 16-17 used either the educational app for 18 months or attended a single nurse-led session. Researchers measured changes in the teens' readiness, knowledge, and confidence in handling their own care.
