New app aims to keep suicidal teens safe

Summary

This study tests an app designed to help teens and young adults with suicidal thoughts stay safe. The app includes a personalized safety plan made with their doctor, plus videos to teach coping skills and improve communication with parents. Researchers will compare usual care to usual care plus the app, and track how well teens cope, how confident parents feel, and how prepared healthcare providers are. About 100 teens, their parents, and providers will take part.
