VA tests smartphone app to fight veteran alcohol use

Summary
This study is testing if a smartphone app, when used alongside standard medication, helps Veterans with alcohol use disorder reduce heavy drinking days more effectively than medication alone. It will involve 330 Veterans across 15 VA sites who are starting medication treatment. The goal is to provide easier access to recommended care and see if the digital tool improves outcomes.
