First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 15 times

Summary

This early-stage study tests whether a person's own pancreatic cells can be turned into insulin-making cells and transplanted under the belly skin to control diabetes. 24 adults with type 2 diabetes who need insulin shots will take part. The goal is to see if this approach is safe and can reduce or replace the need for injected insulin.
