Phone app aims to ease the haunting memories of ICU survivors

NCT ID NCT05849454

Summary

This small, completed study tested whether a new smartphone app could help adults who were distressed by memories of a past stay in an intensive care unit (ICU). The app guides users to record and process a difficult memory from their hospitalization at their own pace. Researchers wanted to see if people would find the app useful and easy to use, which will help them design a larger future study to see if it actually reduces distress.
