NCT ID NCT06446089

First seen Aug 17, 2026 ยท Last updated Aug 17, 2026

Summary

This study explores whether a mobile app, adapted from the Thinking Healthy Program and tailored for Chinese culture and language, can support the mental well-being of Chinese immigrant pregnant women in Canada. Participants, who are at least 22 weeks pregnant and speak Mandarin, will use the app for three weeks. The trial focuses on whether the app is usable and acceptable, and whether it might help reduce symptoms of perinatal depression.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only โ€” not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance
A culturally adapted mobile app-based version of the Thinking Healthy Program, a psychosocial intervention using cognitive behavioral therapy and behavioral activation techniques.
What this could lead to
If successful, this could provide a scalable, culturally sensitive mental health tool to help prevent and manage perinatal depression in immigrant populations.
What could go wrong
This is a small feasibility study, so results may not generalize. The app's effectiveness is not yet proven, and engagement may vary.
