Stent in surgery could prevent deadly aortic complications
NCT ID NCT06044259
Summary
This study is testing if adding a special stent during emergency surgery for a torn aorta (aortic dissection) leads to better long-term results. It will compare the standard surgery to the same surgery plus the stent implant in 72 patients. The main goal is to see if the stent reduces a common surgical complication that often leads to the need for more operations later.
