Gene test could personalize fungal infection prevention for leukemia patients

Summary
This study tests whether using a person's genetic risk can help decide the best way to prevent serious fungal infections in patients with acute myeloid leukemia (AML) undergoing chemotherapy. About 410 adults with AML will receive the antifungal drug posaconazole, with some assigned based on their genetic risk and others by standard care. The goal is to see if this personalized approach reduces mold infections more effectively.
