First seen May 05, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study looked at whether adding antibiotics (amoxicillin and metronidazole) to standard deep cleaning (scaling and root planing) helps treat gum disease better than deep cleaning alone. 236 adults with moderate to severe gum disease took part. The goal was to see if the combination reduces pocket depths and improves gum health more effectively.
