Could a 'Wait-and-See' approach cut unnecessary antibiotics for kids?

NCT ID NCT06986148

Summary

This study is testing if a 'watch and wait' strategy for antibiotics is as safe and effective as giving them right away for children with mild pneumonia. About 2,000 children, aged 1 to 6 years, will be randomly assigned to either get antibiotics immediately or only if they don't improve after a few days. The goal is to see if this approach can safely reduce unnecessary antibiotic use while still helping kids get better.
