First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 24 times
Summary
This study aims to find out if 5 days of antibiotics works as well as 10 days for children hospitalized with pneumonia, skin infections, or urinary tract infections. About 1,200 children will be randomly assigned to receive either a 5-day or 10-day course, with some taking a placebo after day 5. The goal is to balance recovery with fewer side effects and less burden on families.
