Scientists probe Life-Saving antibiotic mystery in critically ill

NCT ID NCT07167524

Summary

This study aims to understand how kidney dialysis machines filter a common antibiotic (piperacillin-tazobactam) out of the blood of intensive care patients with severe infections. Researchers will measure drug levels in 24 ICU patients who are on dialysis and receiving this antibiotic. The goal is to gather data to help doctors prescribe the most effective and safe dose for these critically ill patients.
