Summary
This study is testing whether placing small antibiotic beads near breast tissue expanders during reconstruction surgery can prevent infections. Researchers want to see if this local antibiotic delivery reduces the risk of surgical site infections and fluid buildup (seroma) in the 90 days after surgery. The trial involves 392 women undergoing mastectomy and immediate reconstruction at a single cancer center.
