Scientists probe Gut-Brain link in eating disorders

NCT ID NCT05842343

Summary

This study aimed to understand the relationship between gut bacteria, the immune system, and food intake in people with anorexia nervosa. Researchers compared stool samples and dietary surveys from female patients with anorexia to those from healthy volunteers. The goal was to gather knowledge about how the gut and brain communicate in this eating disorder, not to test a treatment.
