Remote HIIT program aims to boost fitness in ANOCA patients
NCT ID NCT07182955
First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 26, 2026
Summary
This study looks at why people with angina but no blocked arteries (ANOCA) often have poor fitness. Researchers will test whether a 4-week, remotely supervised high-intensity interval training (HIIT) program can safely improve heart function, exercise capacity, and quality of life in 25 participants.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
high-intensity interval training (HIIT)
What this could lead to
If successful, this could point toward a safe, home-based exercise program to improve fitness and quality of life for people with ANOCA.
What could go wrong
This is a very small, early-stage study with only 25 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. The exercise program is short (4 weeks) and may not lead to lasting improvements.
