X-rays may miss ankle bone misalignment after surgery, study finds

NCT ID NCT07338149

First seen Jun 27, 2026 ยท Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study looked at 86 adults who had ankle fracture surgery. Even when their post-surgery X-rays looked good, a CT scan sometimes found that the bones were not perfectly aligned. The researchers then checked how well the ankle worked one year later. The goal was to see if CT scans give a better picture of healing than X-rays alone.
