Could a simpler brace speed up ankle fracture recovery?
NCT ID NCT07163091
Summary
This study aims to find out if a less restrictive ankle brace (an 'ankle stirrup') works as well as the standard, bulkier walker boot for adults healing from an ankle fracture. It will involve 1,400 patients across Scandinavia, comparing pain, function, and social activity three months after the injury. The goal is to see if the preferred, more comfortable option leads to a faster return to normal life without increasing risks.
