New study tracks how well secukinumab works for painful skin condition in daily life
NCT ID NCT06517732
First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study follows 107 adults in Russia with moderate to severe hidradenitis suppurativa (a chronic skin condition causing painful lumps) who are taking secukinumab as part of their normal care. Researchers will track how many patients see a 55% reduction in disease severity over time, using a standard scoring system. The goal is to see how well the drug works in real-world settings, outside of controlled clinical trials.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- secukinumab
- What this could lead to
- If successful, this study could confirm that secukinumab works well in everyday practice for people with hidradenitis suppurativa, supporting its wider use.
- What could go wrong
- This is an observational study, not a controlled trial, so results may be less reliable. It only includes patients already prescribed the drug, and the sample size is small (107 people).
