Early test: can a new drug calm nerves and lower blood pressure in obesity?

NCT ID NCT06482853

Summary

This early-stage study aims to understand if an experimental drug called angiotensin-(1-7) can improve heart and blood vessel health in people who have both obesity and high blood pressure. Researchers will give the drug or a placebo (saltwater) to 52 participants through an IV and carefully measure its effects on nerve activity, blood pressure, and blood vessel function. The goal is to gather knowledge about how this drug works, not to provide a treatment.
