Anesthesia as sleep aid? new study tests unusual therapy for stubborn insomnia

NCT ID NCT07255027

Summary

This study is testing whether putting people to sleep with a low-dose anesthetic drug can help reset the brain's sleep patterns in adults with severe, treatment-resistant insomnia. Researchers will monitor 180 participants to see if this 'anesthesia-induced sleep' mimics natural sleep and provides lasting relief. The goal is to offer a new non-drug option for people who haven't been helped by standard insomnia treatments.
