Wake up faster: study tests anesthesia for quicker hospital discharge
NCT ID NCT06252207
Summary
This study aimed to see if switching from one common anesthesia drug (isoflurane) to another (desflurane) could help adult surgery patients wake up faster and leave the hospital sooner. The goal was to improve patient flow and potentially reduce costs by shortening recovery time. The trial was designed as a quality improvement project but was withdrawn before any patients were enrolled.
