First seen Feb 17, 2026 · Last updated May 08, 2026 · Updated 12 times
Summary
This study looks at two types of anesthesia—conscious sedation and general anesthesia—used during painless gastroscopy (a stomach exam) in frail adults aged 65 and older. The goal is to see which method causes fewer heart-related problems like irregular heartbeat or blood pressure swings. About 226 participants will be enrolled to help doctors choose the safer option for this vulnerable group.
