Breathing easier: study tests safer, cheaper anesthesia for prostate surgery

NCT ID NCT07475533

Summary

This study aims to find out which of two low-flow anesthesia methods is safer and more efficient for men having robotic surgery to remove their prostate due to cancer. Researchers will compare a very low flow (0.5 L/min) to a standard low flow (1 L/min) of anesthetic gas, checking patients' breathing, blood gases, and how much gas is used. The goal is to gather knowledge to help make this type of surgery safer and potentially less costly, without testing a new treatment.
