First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 26 times

Summary

This study tests a new method to monitor how deep a patient is under anesthesia during surgery. Instead of using standard monitors, researchers will analyze chemicals in the patient's exhaled breath to predict anesthesia depth. The goal is to find a non-invasive way to manage anesthesia for 500 adults having surgery lasting over an hour.
