Anesthesia choice may cut Post-Op confusion in elderly diabetics

NCT ID NCT06788743

Summary

This study aims to see if using one common anesthesia drug (propofol) instead of another (sevoflurane) can lower the risk of post-surgery confusion, known as delirium, in older diabetic patients. It will involve 450 patients aged 60 and over having major non-heart surgery. The goal is to find the best anesthesia approach to improve recovery and reduce this common complication.
