Gentler anesthesia start may protect older Patients' hearts during surgery

NCT ID NCT06980688

Summary

This study is testing if slowly increasing the dose of an anesthesia drug (propofol) based on a patient's needs leads to more stable blood pressure during surgery compared to a standard starting dose. It involves 320 patients aged 55 and older having non-heart surgery. The goal is to find a safer way to begin anesthesia that reduces dangerous drops in blood pressure.
