Summary
This study tests whether 8 weeks of a blood thinner (DOAC) or antiplatelet medication works better to prevent clots on a device placed in the heart's left atrial appendage. The device is used to reduce stroke risk in people with atrial fibrillation. The trial involves 510 adults who have already had the device implanted successfully. The main goal is to see which approach reduces device clots, strokes, bleeding, and death.
