Could ancient wheat fight gum disease and cancer risk?
NCT ID NCT06315088
Summary
This small, completed study explored whether adding an ancient type of wheat called einkorn to people's diets could change the balance of bacteria in their mouths. Researchers measured bacteria linked to gum disease and general health markers in 31 healthy adults before and after the diet change. The goal was to gather initial evidence on how specific foods might influence oral and overall health through the microbiome.
