Own cells injected to fortify amputee skin for better prosthetic fit

NCT ID NCT04839497

Summary

This study is testing whether injecting a person's own skin cells into the skin covering their amputated leg can make that skin firmer and more durable. The goal is to improve comfort and function for people who use a prosthetic leg. Twenty adults with a below-the-knee amputation will receive either the cell injections or a placebo, and researchers will compare skin firmness and safety over three months.
